Training in early warning systems of MAIIF Staff
This training aimed at ensuring that early warning response systems are understood by all stakeholders. At the end of the training early warning structures of project teams, Early Warning Response Systems in MAAIF, districts and other relevant ministries were in good position to collect, analyze and disseminate early warning information .It also aimed at building participants’ capacities (personnel, training, equipment) all of which was funded under the Project.
Some of the areas of focus included; harmonizing drought related Early Warning Response Systems, implementing of ex- ante risk reduction measures and institutionalizing government policies on early warning. The Veterinary and para-veterinary officers and CAHWs are also to be trained and equipped with bicycles, and motorcycles for collecting meteorological data. This four day training took place at Ridar Hotel Seeta, Mukono on 21st – 24th March, 2017.
