The 9th Implementation Support Mission
The World Bank, IGAD and the Government of the Republic of Uganda conducted the supervision and implementation support mission of the project during 30th September – 4th October 2019. The objectives of the mission were to ensure that the project development objectives are being met and satisfy the bank fiduciary responsibilities. Specifically it aimed at: assessing the progress made in the implementation of the recommendations of the May 2019 supervision and implementation support mission, identifying and discussing potential and emerging constraints and agreeing on solutions and improvements as well as responsibilities for implementation, assessing the project’s compliance with the Loan covenants; and providing guidance to the project on strategic focus of the project intervention and resources so as to attain project objectives in the remaining period. The mission visited project activities and interacted with stakeholders in the districts of Katakwi, Napak and Moroto. The wrap-up meeting of the mission was held in Kampala on 4th October 2019 under the chairmanship of the Task Team Leader World Bank ,Ms.Pushina Kunda Ng'andwe .The mission was grateful to the Government of Uganda, the project staff and the various community beneficiaries and stakeholders, for their cooperation and support to the project and the mission.
The progress of the construction oflivestock marketing and production infrastructure outputs ranges from 75 – 98% in different districts under different contractors. The date of completion of works is 30th October 2019 and the period of construction is 10 months and the defects liability period is 12 months ending October 2020. While the progress of the construction of livestock watering infrastructure outputs ranges from 35 – 80% in different districts under different contractors. The date of completion of works is 30th November 2019 and the period of construction is 12 months and the defects liability period is 12 months ending November 2020.
